What are your top five favorite Broadway shows?
Once Upon a Mattress
What was the first Broadway show you saw?
I saw The Lion King in New York at the Minskoff Theatre. This was very special because my first Broadway show was On Broadway during my 8th grade field trip to Washington DC and New York City. The costumes and puppets were extraordinary. The music gets me every time!
Which character in a musical or play do you most identify with and why?
I definitely identify with Anya in Anastasia. She is conflicted in whether or not she should continue searching for her past or fighting for her dreams. She is truly one of a kind.
Have you ever performed on stage?
I was a big musical theater kid in high school. I performed in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as Hedy LaRue in 2016 and Luce in The Boys From Syracuse in 2017. I competed at many acting competitions with Shakespeare monologues and musical theater classics.
What does theater and/or Broadway mean to you?
Theater is a chance to live another life, while simultaneously discovering more about who I am as a person. Broadway is a method of escaping reality for a night, and really diving deep into the life that the playwright intended for the character. It is truly fascinating.
What is one thing that someone would be surprised to know about you?
Although theatre is my passion, I can name every single breed of horse!
Do you have any hidden talents?
I speak (and sing) fluent Spanish!
What accomplishment are you most proud of (personally or professionally)?
I am very proud of myself for getting into my dream school, UC Davis and living out my dream to become an equine veterinarian.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a horse doctor. I am still trying to make that dream a reality!
What do you like most about being an SHN Member?
My favorite aspect of the membership experience is being able to be entertained based on my schedule. If there is ever a performance that is inconvenient for me to attend, I’m able to change my ticket date for the same show! It is really convenient with a busy schedule like mine.
