What are your top five favorite Broadway shows?
Hamilton
Jesus Christ Superstar
The Phantom of the Opera
The Wiz
Rent
What was the first Broadway show you saw?
Cats. I went with my Mom and her husband when I was in high school. I lived in Wyoming at the time and it was a big outing to drive to Denver to see the show. It was even cooler a year or so later when our high school marching band did a show with music from the show.
What does theater and/or Broadway mean to you?
It’s an escape from reality but also a way to process real-life issues. Adding music to a story makes it more real, brings it closer to home.
What is one thing that someone would be surprised to know about you?
That I once sang a The Phantom of the Opera song in a wedding.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I’m actually a decent dancer but I rarely, if ever, dance outside of my own living room.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A dentist!
Is there anything else that we should know about you?
I once woke my college roommate up because I was sleep-singing selections from The Phantom of the Opera. I bet that’s not a story you hear very often. 🙂
