New Humphry Slocombe Flavor Celebrates CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
To celebrate the opening of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the SHN Golden Gate Theatre, Humphry Slocombe and SHN have collaborated on a limited-edition ice cream flavor inspired by Broadway’s favorite confectionary treat.
Inspired by and named after Violet Beauregard, one of the five children who wins a coveted gold ticket to visit chocolate entrepreneur Willy Wonka’s famed factory, Humphry Slocombe’s Chocolate Violet flavor is a milk chocolate ice cream—is made with Violet Liqueur and house-made chocolate wafers.
To add some extra flavoring, Humphry Slocombe will create five Golden Tickets that will be hidden in pints at the four Bay Area locations (as well as one that will be distributed nationally via Goldbelly). Inspired by Charlie, whose finding of a Golden Ticket inside a Willy Wonka candy bar leads to the adventure of a lifetime, the finders of the Humphry Slocombe Golden Tickets can expect a memorable evening at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, including VIP seating, and show and SHN merchandise for the Goldbelly winner.
Based on the Road Dahl book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory offered Humphry Slocombe Co-Founder, Executive Chef, and Expert Baker Jake Godby innumerable ideas for flavors. But the choice was an easy one. “Coming up with this flavor was probably the easiest of all of our SHN-inspired flavors,” stated Godby. “I knew it had to be chocolate and Violet is my favorite character. Done!”
The limited-edition ice cream is available at all five Humphry Slocombe Locations.
